What We Believe.
This condensed version of our doctrinal statement contains the scriptures that are the basis of our every teaching. You can examine these findings by delving into the scriptures for yourself.

 

 

    1. We believe in the infallible verbal inspiration of the whole Bible (Psalm 119:160; II Tim. 3:16,17),

    2. The Genesis account of creation (Genesis Chapters 1 & 2),

    3. Satan is a fallen angel, the archenemy of God and man (Isa. 14:12-15; Ezek. 28:11-19; Matt. 25:41; Rev. 20:10),

    4. Man was created in the image of God (Gen. 1:26; Gen. 3:6-24; Rom. 5:12,19),

    5. Christ established his New Testament Church during his ministry on earth. The church is always a local, visible assembly of saved, baptized believers. To the churches, Jesus gave the Great Commission to carry out. Each church is an independent, self-governing body. The Lord promises the perpetuity of his churches (Matt. 4:18-22; Matt. 16:18; Matt. 18:15-18, Matt. 28:19,20; Mark 1:14-20; John 1:35-51; Eph. 3:21),

    6. The Holy Spirit is the divine administrator for Jesus Christ in his churches (Luke 24:49; John 14:15-18; Acts 1:4-8; Acts 2:1-4),

    7. Salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ; the requisites to new birth are repentance toward God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ (Luke 13:3-5; John 3:16-18; Rom. 3:20-28; Eph. 2:8,9). The Holy Spirit convicts sinners, regenerates, seals, secures, and indwells every believer (John 3:6; Rom. 8:9-11; I Cor. 6:19,20; Eph. 4:30; Titus 3:5),

    8.  All who trust in Jesus Christ for salvation are eternally secure in him and shall not perish. (John 3:36; John 5:24; John 10:27-30: Rom. 8:35-39; Heb. 10:39; I Peter 1:5),

    9. Jesus Christ was miraculously conceived of a virgin and lived a sinless life (Matt. 1:18-23; II Cor. 5:21; I Peter 2:22),

    10. The suffering and death of Jesus was a substitue for the sins of all mankind, but the sin debt paid is effective only for those who believe (Isa. 53:6; Heb. 2:9; I Peter 2:24; I Peter 3:18; II Peter 3:9; I John 2:2),

    11. God deals with believers as his children, chastising the disobedient and rewarding the obedient (Matt. 25:14-23; Heb.12:5-11; II John 8; Rev. 22:12),

    12. The bodily resurrection and ascension of Christ and the bodily resurection of His saints (Matt. 28:1-8; Acts 1:9-11; I Cor. 15:42-58; I Thess. 4:13-18),

    13. The second coming of Christ, personal and bodily as the crowning event of this Gentile age (John 14:1-6; I Thess. 4:13-18; II Thess. 2:8; Rev. 19; Rev. 20:4-6, 11-15; Rev. 21:8),

    14. Miraculous spiritual gifts – other than faith, hope, and love – were eliminated when the Bible was completed (I Cor. 12 - 14).

    15. God is a triune being consisting of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Matt. 28: 19),

    16. There are only two church offices set forth in the Bible: Pastor and Deacon; these offices are to be filled by men whose qualifications are set forth in Timothy and Titus (I Tim. 3:1-13; Titus 1:4-9),

    17. There are two pictorial ordinances in the Lord’s churches: 1. Baptism — the immersion of penitent believers in water by the authority of a New Testament Church in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. 2. The Lord’s Supper — a memorial ordinance restricted to the members of the church observing the ordinance. (Matt. 28:19,20; Acts 8:12,38; Rom. 6:4; I Cor. 5:11-13),

    18.  All associations, fellowships, and committees are, and should be, servants of (controlled by) local churches (Matt. 20:25-28),

    19. There should be complete separation of church and state (Matt. 22:21),

    20. All sexual activity outside the sacred bounds of matrimony between one man and one woman is sinful and is condemned as such in God's word (Rom. 1:24-27; Gen. 19:1-11; Judges 19:22-25; Jude 7).
